Come
look at our salmon in 4D! We are raising salmon and studying their life cycle.
The
first stage of a salmon is the egg, then the alevin, then they move on to fry,
then the smolt, and again move on to adults.
Every
day we take a peek and see how the eyed eggs are doing. We test the pH level of
the water about 3 times a week to make sure the water is safe for the salmon to
grow in. It looks like they are doing very good.
When
Mrs. Lin (the lady who dropped the
salmon eggs off at the beginning of January) came in and put the salmon eggs in
the tank, she put in 48 and 2 have
died (so far). The Salmon were supposed to hatch on Sunday January 27th,
but they haven’t yet! We are anxiously waiting for them to hatch into alevin!
We’ve
had lots of classes come in very excited to look at our salmon, so you should
come too!
